Risco, Missouri : ウィキペディア英語版 | Risco, Missouri
Risco is a city in New Madrid County, Missouri, United States. The population was 346 at the 2010 census. ==History== Risco started out as a logging town in the late 19th century. At the time, the entire area was covered by swamp. Local legend has it that a derailed Frisco rail car with a faded "f" is responsible for the town's name. Risco has a stand-alone school district, Risco RII. The school system consists of an elementary school, a combination middle and high school and a gymnasium, all on the same plot of land. For several years in the early 1960s, Risco was home to the popular " Bootheel Jamboree," which featured top Nashville stars and up-and-coming entertainers. Most residents of Risco work on farms, or in nearby larger towns.
